You know the other thing I associate side ponytails with? Anime.

It's said that characters take on a life of their own, and I'm pretty sure Kittika was actually glaring at me as I drew her in panel 2. And although she wouldn't admit it aloud, she kind of likes the short hair. It's a conflict of her natural elf instincts.
